The research that came home

Her MBA studied entrepreneurship in Cap-de-Ville and Fanny Village. Then she spent the next years serving those same streets.

Between 2008 and 2011 Bryana Fortune-John earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Business Management at Anglia Ruskin University. In 2017 and 2018 she returned for a Master of Business Administration in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The major project had a precise title and a familiar place: community-based entrepreneurship as a strategy for local economic development, a case study of Cap-de-Ville / Fanny Village.

By then she was already the Councillor for that electoral district, first elected in 2016. The degree and the door-to-door work were the same project. She wanted to know how a small place creates work, pride, and staying power, and she wanted to be one of the people responsible for the answer.

The Point Fortin Public Library later summed her up as a woman of many hats: councillor, administrative professional, educator, entrepreneur, and social activist. The hats are real. The person under them has been remarkably consistent. She still talks about networks, teamwork, and impact that can be felt. She still signs her notes with gratitude.
